AmeriCarlo’s is an artisan bakery and coffee shop. Carl, the baker, was trained in the Swiss style and bakes all his bread fresh on the premises Monday to Saturday. Originally from San Francisco he grew up appreciating the flavours of sourdough which is famous in the bay area. At the age of 21 he started travelling across the States and Europe working in bakeries in Sweden, Germany and Washington State. He took a break from baking when he joined the army and did tours of Kuwait, Iraq and Turkey.
Now he is back in the kitchen. As well as the traditional small white bloomer, Carl has created his own French Wheat recipe which is a light wholemeal loaf. For artisan bread lovers his cranberry and pecan is a must. Or why not try his apricot and walnut bread….great with a strong English cheddar. For those with a sweet tooth, bite into one of his famous Danish pastries…they are unlike anything available elsewhere and the recipe is a closely guarded secret!!!
AmeriCarlo’s menu brings you the “real” American style sandwich found in New York, Chicago or San Francisco. Made fresh on the spot the selection ranges from the classic Carl’s Club to the Very Veggie.
Our freshly ground coffee is made with Italian Sassetta beans and is hard to beat for coffee lovers….espresso, cappuccino or latte…..with syrup or not? There is a coffee to suit everyone. If you are more of a tea drinker then we have over 10 varieties of tea to whet your appetite. Why not try it with one of our home-made scones with jam and clotted cream….Pure decadence.
